Tennis Instructor: Julia Tcherkas

Julia developed a love for tennis at a young age and has competed
in provincial, national and international tournaments. She is a
certified Tennis Canada Instructor with experience coaching players of all
ages and abilities. She has a passion for helping others understand
and practice the basic fundamentals of tennis, as well as learning
game strategies and techniques.

Tennis Instructor: Nicolas Cosenza

Nicolas has been competing in tennis for over a decade and teaching as a certified Tennis Canada Instructor  to individuals of all ages for 3 years. He obtained a diploma in fitness and health promotion and is in the process of completing a degree for a Bachelor of Applied Science in Kinesiology at the University of Guelph-Humber. His passion for teaching and knowledge of exercise will help you achieve your goals and aspirations on the tennis court.

Tennis Instructor: Max Von Althen

Max developed a passion for tennis at a young age playing as a junior in Ottawa. Max is a certified Tennis Canada instructor with a positive energy that ensures a fun learning environment for students of all ages. Max has years of experience working with juniors and adults and he continues to grow as a coach and a player.

Pickleball Instructor: Cody Barbeau

PCI, NCCP I and Head Coach of the National Competitive Training League.

Cody is proud to be the new Pickleball Coach for the Orléans Tennis Club and currently competes as a Selkirk Sport Professional Player. He is also the Pickleball Coach at the RA Centre for Advanced players. He is a multiple gold medallist in local and regional events and a national medalist.

Cody has been coaching pickleball for 4 years. He is the founder of the National Competitive Training League (2019) which assembles top players to develop the skills and mindset necessary to compete and win at a National level. As a result, Cody has the pleasure of coaching, drilling and playing with top Pickleball players across Canada. 

 

He also brings 5 years of tennis coaching and 25 years of golf professional experience. His athletic achievements include a provincial championship in tennis, golf, as well as a gold medal in golf at the World Masters Games.

 

Cody’s passion for coaching is equally as high as his passion for competing. His goal is to work with players to break barriers and improve their skills, so they achieve all their goals.

Pickleball Instructor: Joane van Bergen

Joane loves playing pickleball, is passionate about teaching both adults/youth, enjoys competing and has refereed many tournaments including the US Open.  She earned her Pickleball Coaching Certification from PPR Professional Pickleball Registry and her Level 2 Referee status in Naples, Florida.  She is a member of PCO and USAPA.  Joane's organized lessons focus on understanding basics from the onset and developing fundamental skills to establish a solid foundation.  Her Referee status allows her to pass on all the current rules and strategy tips.  She speaks English, French and basic Dutch.

Joane offers a simple and efficient approach to the game.  She enjoys helping others learn the sport and improve their performance.  If you are an adult or youth pickleball beginner looking for the "right way" to start the game in a fun and supportive environment, give Joane a call. 

Pickleball Pro: Luc Germain

Luc is a Level II International Pickleball Teaching Professional Association Professional, learning facilitator and Ottawa ambassador of Pickleball Ontario, and was a founding member and first Vice-President of the Ottawa Pickleball Association. He comes to us with six years of pickleball coaching experience, with 15 years experience as a ski instructor with the Canadian Association for Disabled Skiers.

Luc loves introducing people to the sport of pickleball, and to help players improve their game (both skills and strategy). He speaks both English and French.
