Highlights
The
Season
Members who enjoy
competition but not at tournament level love the team play and social
activities of the Davis Cup.
For 2011, Davis Cup will be held on Sept. 10 with a raindate of Sept. 17.
The
club selects four captains to represent various countries. The players dress
and party wearing the colours of their country's flag and contribute to the
dinner. Captains choose their players by a common draft and the team that has
the most points at evening's end, is the winner. The points are: 3 for a win,
2 for a tie and 1 for being there. All teams have four doubles squads #1
being the strongest and #4 the least experienced. A team #1 plays only the #
1 team of each country and so on.
At the end of the evening,
members enjoy a delicious dinner of traditional food followed by the
presentations.
